In the UAE, the private security industry is regulated by different authorities depending on the emirate. While PSBD (Private Security Business Department) was the original federal authority, it has largely transitioned to ASSD (Auxiliary Security Services Department) for Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates (excluding Dubai, which uses SIRA).
The training for an ASSD license is conducted primarily by the National Security Institute (NSI).
