First Aid means the immediate and temporary help given to a person who is injured or suddenly ill, before professional medical help arrives.

In security services, guards are often the first responders in emergencies, so basic first aid knowledge is essential.

🔹  Main purpose of First Aid

 1. Preserve Life – Save the victim’s life.

 2. Prevent Condition from Worsening – Stop         further injury or damage.

 3. Promote Recovery – Help the person heal faster until medical aid arrives.

🔹 Basic First Aid Steps (3 C’s Rule)

 1. Check – the scene and the victim for safety and condition.

 2. Call – for help (ambulance, supervisor, or emergency number).

 3. Care – for the injured person with proper first aid steps.

 

  Common First Aid Situations for Security Guards

      * Sterile gauze and bandages

      * Adhesive tape and plasters

     * Antiseptic cream or liquid

    * Scissors and safety pins

   * Gloves

   * Pain relief tablets (like paracetamol)

   * Burn ointment

   * Cotton and clean cloth

   * CPR face shield (optional)
